<p>The HyPowerGT consortium is pleased to announce the publication of its new promotional video.</p>



<p>This material serves the purpose of disseminating the project objectives, impacts, and technological innovations in the domain of hydrogen-gas turbines. </p>



<p>The video also includes in-person interviews with project representatives (Baker Hughes, ETN, Sintef Energy Research, and Snam), which were recorded during the HyPowerGT consortium meeting in Milan, Italy, in February 2025. The video also includes relevant material kindly shared by Baker Hughes and video shootings at Snam plant in Settala, Italy.</p>

<p>The Clean Hydrogen Partnership and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO) hosted a highly productive workshop in Kobe, Japan, at the end of March 2025. The workshop focused on the future of hydrogen and ammonia combustion technologies.</p>



<p>During the meeting, HyPowerGT was represented by project partners Baker Hughes and SINTEF Energy. The workshop provided a unique opportunity to exchange experiences on the development of hydrogen combustion technologies with other sister projects (including <a href="https://achieve-project.eu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ACHIEVE</a>, <a href="https://flex4h2.eu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FLEX4H2</a>, <a href="https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101101462" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">HELIOS</a>, InsigH<sub>2</sub>t, and <a href="https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101138002/fr#:~:text=HyCoFlex%20is%20aiming%20at%20the%20development%20of%20a,at%20an%20industrial%20site%20in%20Saillat-sur-Vienne%20in%20France." target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">HyCOFlex</a>) and relevant Japanese stakeholders.</p>

<p>This week, the HyPowerGT Consortium convened at Snam facilities in Milan, Italy, for an important meeting focused on progressing the project towards its 2025 milestones.</p>



<p><strong>Key Highlights from the Meeting:</strong></p>



<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Project Implementation Updates:</strong> Partners engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding the ongoing project activities, focusing on key tasks and critical milestones set for 2025. The session served to ensure that all members are aligned and working efficiently toward the project&#8217;s success.</li>



<li><strong>Site Visit to Snam’s Storage Facilities:</strong> On Tuesday afternoon, 11 February, the consortium members participated in a guided tour of Snam advanced storage facilities in Lombardy, Italy. The visit provided valuable insights into Snam operations and its role in the energy transition, offering a deeper understanding of the technological innovations shaping the future of energy.</li>



<li><strong>General Assembly &amp; Executive Board Meeting:</strong> Strategic sessions were held during the meeting to ensure that all consortium members remain aligned with the project’s long-term objectives. These sessions are key to ensuring optimal collaboration and delivery as the project progresses.</li>
</ol>



<p>Looking ahead, the HyPowerGT project continues to gain momentum, and further updates will be shared as we approach key milestones in the coming months.</p>

<p>With the active participation of project partners Baker Hughes, the HyPowerGT project was recently featured in the new ETN Global Hydrogen Gas Turbines Report!</p>



<p>The Report, which targets the entire value chain of turbomachinery stakeholders, includes detailed insights on the latest technological development of hydrogen gas turbines technologies, as well as the proposed solutions developed by the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).</p>



<p>An entire section of Chapter 5 (OEM achievements and ongoing developments) is dedicated to the HyPowerGT goals and expected results. The text also highlights the recent achievements of Baker Hughes in the test campaigns of the first NovaLT<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" />16 hydrogen unit, demonstrating the capability of the engine to burn any blend of natural gas and hydrogen up to pure hydrogen.</p>

<p>The HyPowerGT project is supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and its members (GA 101136656) and the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).</p>



<p>The HyPowerGT project aims at moving technological frontiers to enable gas turbines to operate on hydrogen guaranteeing low NOx emissions without catalytics and diluents. The core technology is a novel dry-low emission combustion technology (DLE H<sub>2</sub>) capable of starting up and operating with mixtures of natural gas and hydrogen with concentrations up to 100%. Besides ensuring low emissions and high efficiency, the DLE H<sub>2</sub>&nbsp;combustion technology offers fuel flexibility and response capability on a par with modern gas-turbine engines fired with natural gas.</p>
